Sparkling spots[edit | edit source]

Sparkling spots are small gold stars that can be found along walls in the dungeon. They can be blown up with bombs (or anything that inflicts explosive damage) to reveal secret rooms which usually contain treasure. Other methods to break them include the explosive spike attacks of all types of Lurker and Bobos' charges.

Sparkles appear if there was an explosion in the room, including but not limited to:

  • Bombs dropped by the player or enemies
  • Bombing a TNT barrel
  • Gold affected by Unstable Concoction. Gold pieces can also reveal the passageways into the rooms if they land close enough to the wall.

The Djinn can also reveal sparkles upon entering a room. Drinking a Potion of True Sight will reveal the passage, but it will still require a bomb to be accessed.

Upon entering a room with a crawl space, the Djinn will snap his hands and the crawl space will sparkle, like a secret room entrance.

Secret rooms[edit | edit source]

Secret rooms are rooms hidden behind a wall and can be accessed by using an explosive on the wall. Sometimes the rooms can be identified by sparkles on a wall. There are at least two secret rooms per floor; Adventurer's Hat.pngAdventurer's Hat greatly increases the chance of floors to generate three secret rooms. A room can have more than one secret room connected to it. A secret room can be connected to more than one room, including another secret room.

Secret rooms can contain puzzles, keys, bombs, blessings, shrines, treasures, dogs (Dillon, Engine and Shadow), and more.

Crawl spaces[edit | edit source]

When certain rocks are destroyed they will reveal hidden crawl spaces. These passageways lead to a secret room that may house Blessings, Curses, or other treasure.

There is only one hidden crawl space under a rock per floor and it cannot spawn under rocks containing gold or in rocks located in secret rooms.

Crawl spaces can be revealed by drinking a Potion of True Sight.pngPotion of True Sight or with the Djinn familiar. In both cases the entrance still needs to be bombed.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • When the player saves Dibble for the first time, he will always have a secret room behind him. As you get close to the secret room, he tries to keep the player away from it.
