Disambig This article is about tips and guiding. For achievements list, see achievements.

Here you can find tips and tricks to most of the achievements. Some achievements will not have a full guide towards each, due to tactic being written in the main page of the achievement, these will have a link, or simply because they do not need a guide at all. If you have any ideas that you believe can help, please add them. The achievements in this list are categorized.

Unlocking NPCs[ | ]

Returned to His Forge[ | ]

  • In the Goldmine you will find a room marked with an exclamation mark on the map, which is a room containing 3 little mushrooms, which follow you, some rocks, and a barrel. The barrel will always contain one Bomb, that you can use to bomb the entrance to the room ahead of you. In the room marked with an exclamation mark on the map, you can find Wayland.
  • Tip: You can also talk with Wayland, buy a melee upgrade and get Wayland's Boots' Schematics.
  • Note: The mushrooms do not count as enemies towards room clearing, but if you'll squish them while having Arachnophobia, Spiders will come out of them.

Mimicked[ | ]

  • On Goldmine 3, you will find a room marked with an exclamation mark on the map, with locked Dodson in a small cell. You need Prisoner Key to open the cell. You will encounter Rockpile Mimic on this floor. You cannot avoid fighting it, since it blocks your way to the next floor. Once you kill it, you get the key. Go back to Dodson, and unlock his cell.
  • For attacks and tips, see Rockpile Mimic.
  • Tip: you can also talk with him more, and he will give you a BombBomb.

Staying Positive[ | ]

  • In Delvemore Dungeon, you can find a room marked with an exclamation mark on the map. When entering the room you will find Dibble locked. You will need two Keys to free him. Upon opening the gate, you will get the achievement.
  • Tip: All items are half priced, and there is always a secret wall to the north of him, containing a thorium Chest and Schematics.

A Dangerous Ally[ | ]

  • In Delvemore Dungeon, next to Dibble in the room marked with an exclamation mark on the map, you can find the Dungeon Gargoyles. You will know the difference between the two by the entrance. the Dungeon Gargoyles' room is locked, and requires a key to enter, while Dibble's does not. After fighting the gargoyles, you will get the Master's Key. On every Delvemore Dungeon's floor you can find a rock with a little x on it. It is also a bit greyer than the other rocks. Underneath you will find a path leading to Lillyth in a cell. Approach the cell and unlock it.
  • You can bomb the gargoyles to make the fight easier as they will not attack you at all, until you get close enough to the key, which gives you an option to win without fighting at all. See also the Dungeon Gargoyles for tactics.
  • Having NikkoNikko or ThunderbirdThunderbird will help you fight them. FirebirdFirebird does not do damage to them.
  • If you do not find The Dungeon Gargoyles' room for a few runs, go to Lillyth's cell, and this should make the room appear in the future runs.
  • Do not attack Toadvine and Bathcat in the cell room, as Bathcat will teleport you out of the room, and you will not be able to unlock Lillyth in this floor. The cell room resets on the next floor.
  • Tip: You can search the Skeleton in her cell to get an item.

Heart of Darkness[ | ]

  • You will need to find Kurtz in a crawl space between Goldmine 4 and Delvemore Dungeon 3. The Djinn will make it easier for you to find crawl spaces. You will also need two keys. Having Potion of True Sight, and holding on to it until Goldmine 4 is also helpful.
  • Tip: There are some skeletons next to him. Each of them holds a note which explains what happened to them. There is also the Hungry Ghost's Schematics next to him.

A Friend In Need[ | ]

  • In the Goldmine you will find Beltrame wandering around in a room. You will then have to play until you find three bombable rooms which contain a Shiitake, a Nightshade and a Blastcap. Just keep playing until you get them. You most likely will not find them all in a single run. After finding all three, you will then have to play a little more before seeing Beltrame again. Talking with Beltrame with having the three mushrooms unlocks the achievement.
  • The mushrooms can only be found in the Goldmine floors.
  • See Mushroom Quest for more information about this achievement.
  • For specific info about each of the mushrooms, see ShiitakeShiitake, BlastcapBlastcap, NightshadeNightshade.

Is This a Friend?[ | ]

  • After defeating the Rockpile Mimic you will be able to encounter Black Rabbit throughout your runs. Just play until you find her. See also Rockpile Mimic.
  • Tip: She sells Schematics for 25 Gold on the first time you meet her. Also, destroying all pots in her room drops gold.

Behind the Bookcase[ | ]

  • Unlock Griswold, the Collector.
  • In Arkanos' room at the Hub you can find a bookcase behind him. When peeping the bookcase, you will notice that a book appears to be missing.
  • On Halls of Din 1, there will be a room, containing a sign with the text "Fight?" and a lever. This room is marked with an exclamation mark on the map.
  • When pulling the lever, both the lever and the sign will disappear, and the fight will start. You will have to fight three different waves of enemies. After each one you will get Food. After fighting off all the enemies, you will hear a sound, and the Library Key will drop. This will open the room north of you. The locked room contains bookcases, and a book which belongs to Arkanos. When getting back to the Hub again, go back to Arkanos' room, and put the book in the bookcase. This will unlock the entrance to Griswold's room.
  • Beware, as the waves contain at least four enemies each, and all of them are powerful and dangerous.
  • The room will also always contain two pits in the lower middle part of the room.
  • Tip: Once unlocking Griswold, you can find Familiar eggs on your journeys. You will be able to swap to FirebirdFirebird right away, as you don't need to find an egg for it.

  • Fully upgrade your sack at Wayland in the Hub. Costs Gold500 101,350.

  • Fully upgrade your bomb damage at Dodson in the Hub. Costs Gold500 99,325.

A Very Loyal Customer[ | ]

  • Buy all Shop upgrades from the Pilfer (NPC) in the Hub. This should cost you about Gold500 41,700 (+1200 to join the loyalty program).

Bosses[ | ]

  • This will include very basic information, or other tips that aren't written in the main page. To see tactic and attacks, see main page per each one.

Walk Without Rhythm[ | ]

Stone Is Never Just Stone[ | ]

  • On Delvemore Dungeon 1 you can find a locked MapIcon Boss room. This contains the Dungeon Gargoyles. They are optional and can be fought in future runs, allowing you to get more upgrades or attacking Familiars. See the Dungeon Gargoyles for attacks and tactics.
  • One of the easiest ways to deal with them is by keeping some Bombs. The fight only start when you get close to the key, allowing you to conveniently Kill win without fighting at all.
  • Even though Firebird cannot attack them, if its on level 2 at least, it will significantly reduce damage taken from their attacks.
  • NikkoNikko and ThunderbirdThunderbird can help attack them.

A Pebble In The Road[ | ]

  • On Delvemore Dungeon 4 you can find Mortar. By killing him you unlock the achievement. For Mortar's attacks and info, see Mortar, Charged Golem.
  • NikkoNikko or FirebirdFirebird can be useful for their attacks. They both can do damage to several enemies at a time in they are close (Firebird always, Nikko on level 3 and critical hits).
  • Gordon's TunicGordon's Tunic or the ThunderbirdThunderbird on level 2 will help reduce damage taken from electrified water. For Mortar's second phase, it is easier to do melee attacks on him since the orbs are far away, leaving him vulnerable. Destroying his arms damages him as well.
  • Tip: you can skip him to get to Halls of Din by pulling a lever which gives you 8 curse, or if you have Float Boots/Float Potion. This allows you to get more upgrades and unlock Familiars that can help you in the fight.

You Attack The Darkness[ | ]

  • On Halls of Din 4 you can find a room leading to Noori. To see his attacks, see Noori, Spectre of Darkness.
  • You cannot avoid this fight for now.
  • Having ThunderbirdThunderbird, FirebirdFirebird or NikkoNikko along with some serum Potions can help you with damage. Blessings such as GustGust can make it so you can hit him several times with one throw. Fury PotionFury Potion and Salamander TailSalamander Tail can help you light up the torches, allowing you to do more damage.
  • Having FirebirdFirebird with Gordon's TunicGordon's Tunic and Rain of FireRain of Fire or Waking LightWaking Light can keep you safe while always having a way to light up the torches.
  • Noori is not moving too fast, making it easy to use melee attacks on him. You can easily escape the hands by jumping. Since he does a lot of damage but doesn't attack that rapidly, NullstoneNullstone or AntimatterAntimatter can help quite a bit. Protein ShakeProtein Shake can give more value as well since there are Torches to cook the Food with, and nearly nothing that destroys the Food, giving you the option to use it later on in the fight.
  • The hands have more range than it seems, as they also have the slam range, besides the hand itself.

Hydra Slayer[ | ]

  • On the Shimmering Caverns 4 you'll find a room leading to Ponzu. To see his attacks, see Ponzu, Scaled Assembly.
  • Since its hitbox is so small, it can be easier to use melee attacks (Just beware whenever he is doing his roar attack!).
  • Nikko, Thunderbird and Firebird are all offensive, but since Ponzu disappears and reappears all the time, they barely attack him. Nikko can however increase the Peasant's odds to land a critical hit. Sol's Phoenix can be a great choice as well, giving the player more health.
  • Always search which one has a blue gem on their neck, and attack it, as it's its only vulnerable spot.
  • Any movement speed increasing items can be a great help, allowing you to get close to him more, and still avoid its attacks.
  • Kill Toxic Scales. Poison can be very dangerous due to its slow effect.
  • If you can ignore the rest of the scaled (enemies) without getting hit, it will help you kill Ponzu faster.
  • Ponzu's attacks are very rapid. Avoid tanking it.
  • Higher attack speed is crucial, because the faster you can move after attacking, the better.
  • Float BootsFloat Boots can let the player get closer to the pits without falling, making melee attacks easier.
  • Wayland's BootsWayland's Boots will let you avoid taking damage from the circular crystal splash attacks, however it doesn't block damage from the horizontal line spike attacks.
  • If you are going for throw attacks, GuidanceGuidance can help to get rid of the ads.
  • When Ponzu disappears and reappears, you have a second to kill ads/drink a Potion.

Beheaded and Betailed[ | ]

  • On Golden Core 4 you'll find a boss entrance leading to Seer. To see its attacks, see Seer, World's Heart.
  • Seer has a very predictable movement pattern, walking around the edge of the boss room and stopping randomly in one of the 4 corners.
  • When Seer is attacking there will be noticeable pulsating lighting effects along the top side of the salamanders body, you can use this to know when you need to move out of the way.
  • Seer does not do contact damage, so you can get very close to the head without getting hurt.
  • The Lava WalkersLava Walkers boot are very useful for avoiding fire damage from the flames that appear under Seer's feet. However if the player doesn't have Lava WalkersLava Walkers it is recommended to avoid GaloshesGaloshes as this can lead to lots of fire damage in the Seer fight.
  • Seer has a phase that is randomly activated which will shroud its head and body in mist, this makes seer invulnerable to attacks, however it can be disable by exploding a bomb near it's head.

Rogue's Ultimatum Achievements[ | ]

  • To gain these achievements the game must be played with the Rogue's UltimatumRogue's Ultimatum hex active.
  • To see about each Boss, you can either go see their normal achievement version, or just enter their main page.
  • For ways to increase some of your stats, such as HP or damage without upgrading your equipment, see Stats.

Worm Tamer[ | ]

Thunderstruck[ | ]

Destroyer of Darkness[ | ]

A Herculean Labor[ | ]

Destroyer of Worlds[ | ]

Secret Achievements[ | ]

It's A Secret to Everyone[ | ]

  • Complete the tutorial.
  • There is a hidden room in the tutorial. When you get a bomb, backtrack to the starting room and blow up the top wall to reveal the hidden room.

The Cat and the Toad[ | ]

  • You will need a new save file for this one, or one in which you have not killed Selt in yet. Beat Toadvine and Bathcat and enter Delvemore Dungeon without beating Selt.
  • Bombs can be useful for the fight, especially since you cannot damage Toadvine with ranged attacks. Melee upgrades are helpful as well.
  • Strength Serum, Savagery Serum and Alacrity Serum and can help with damage.
  • Toadvine can charge at you really fast from far away, so beware.
  • It's a good idea to get Bathcat out of the way first since they can heal Toadvine, but not themselves, and they take less hits to defeat. Bathcat can also be damaged with ranged attacks. They can create a shield to protect themselves, but it disappears after a few seconds.
  • The room has some oil barrels in it which can be both dangerous and useful, since it slows you down and you are unable to jump, but there are Torches in the room which allows you to set Toadvine on fire and damage him from afar. Galoshes can help you in here.
  • To attack Toadvine just stay next to him, attack him with your swing attack, jump to the other side of him and attack again. Just repeat this until he dies.
  • See also Bathcat & Toadvine.

Shopception[ | ]

I Found a Shortcut[ | ]

  • You will need a new save file for this, or at least one you haven't defeated Mortar in yet.
  • In order to acomplish this the player must go to the Dungeon Exit, there are many ways to get across this gap as listed on that page:

A True Adventurer[ | ]

Good Boys[ | ]

Demolitionist[ | ]

Spelunker[ | ]

  • Find a crawl space.
  • If you have trouble finding those, you can use Djinn or Potion of True SightPotion of True Sight. See also Secret rooms (crawl spaces section).
  • Needs to be checked whether Lillyth's crawl space counts as well or not, as this crawl space is the easiest to find, since the rock is more noticeable and has an x on it.

I Was Saving That[ | ]

  • Die with Elixir in one of your Potions slots.
  • ElixirElixir needs to be unlocked first.
  • The easiest way to get the achievement is to craft the Potion at Baba's and then actively hurt yourself in the mines until you die (when the potion is in one of your potion's slots).

Everyone Be Cool, This is a Robbery[ | ]

A Deal With The Demon[ | ]

An Unlikely Alliance[ | ]

  • Beat the 3 waves in the fight at Halls of Din 4 with Toadvine and Bathcat.
  • Attacking the Scale Tunnels first can help reduce the amount of enemies you'll encounter.
  • It's helpful to upgrade your HP (tunics) at the Hub before trying to fight the waves.
  • Guard Bathcat heals so fast that you can just tank the enemies while taking hits for her, since she cannot heal herself, and does not have a lot of health. Toadvine deals a lot of damage, making the fight easier. He has more health than Bathcat and can be healed, making Bathcat the easiest target for most enemies, which will go after her. She also creates a shield every once in a while, allowing you to have a few seconds to focus more on attacking.
  • Using melee in this fight is very helpful due to the ability to attack a couple of enemies at the same time.
  • NikkoNikko and ThunderbirdThunderbird can be very helpful. FirebirdFirebird will do a bit less damage since the Scale Tunnels are strong against fire.

Dying[ | ]

They Were Only Peasants[ | ]

  • Die 10 times.

A Mere Statistic[ | ]

  • Die 50 times.

A Slightly Larger Statistic[ | ]

  • Die 100 times

Pilfers[ | ]

Money Grubbers[ | ]

Easy Come, Easy Go[ | ]

  • You can actively keep the Gold on the ground and let Pilfers take it.

#Blessed[ | ]

  • Another Trick is to have some Thorium saved, and then craft Vigor, King's Crown and Bottled Pilfer to start the run with. This makes it so you have a better start and to ensure your victory you just need to pray in Altar for more speed.

  • Tip: Upon doing that and going back to the Hub, buy a Bomb from dibble and blow up the pilfer NPC. This will unlock Pilfer's Gift Schematics, and the "Everybody Stay Cool, This is a Robbery" achievement.

Glutton for Punishment[ | ]

  • You need to heal 1000 HP in a single run. The easiest part is to lose health since it is easy to get hurt. However, you will need to find ways to raise your HP up. Whenever your HP is full and you have ways to heal yourself on this floor, hurt yourself and heal. You will not see here items that raise your maximum HP, since even that they may allow you to do some riskier actions, but they aren't that important to the healing itself. If you still want to see a list, see HP in Stats.
  • Do NOT take Karmic ScaleKarmic Scale as it will set all healing to 1.
  • TRANSMUT3 Installation and TRANSMUT3 in a Bottle can be helpful to both hurt the player, and maybe change Food, Relics or Potions in the room to better ones.
  • Try to avoid having IllnessIllness or FeverFever.
  • Do NOT use Purification PotionPurification Potion as it sets all Bombs and Keys to 0.
Helpful relics[ | ]
Helpful Potions[ | ]

For food duplicating, it may be better to wait for a room with a higher vulue Food or for several food droping/duplicating items, to gain maximum vulue.

Summoning Stones[ | ]

Challenge Accepted[ | ]

Hurt Me Plenty[ | ]

Let's Suffer Together[ | ]

Others[ | ]

Did You Read Them First?[ | ]

  • Simply destroy 20 signs.

Stop, Drop and Roll... in Water[ | ]

  • First, set yourself on fire (could be done with stepping on torches or burning ground/Oil, getting hit by a Fiery Glomp, Fiery Uberglomp or Gargoyle's attacks, getting hit from the flaming crystal ball, sparks from TNT barrels, getting hit by the Waking Light or Rain of Fire curse).
  • Then, you need to quickly find water to step on, before the ignite status effect is over.
  • It's easier to first find a room with water, and then find a close way to set yourself on fire since there are so many ways to ignite yourself.
  • GaloshesGaloshes can help to set you on fire by spreading flameable Oil across the room.
  • Note: you do not have to actually take the damage from the fire (for example, if you have both FirebirdFirebird and Gordon's TunicGordon's Tunic you may not be damaged, but it still counts as being on fire).

Tastes Better This Way[ | ]

  • Eat cooked Food.
  • Cook food by setting it on fire. Can be done with Firebird's attacks if the Food is very close to her target, flaming crystal balls or Waking Light sending fireballs towards your direction, Passing your thrown pickaxe through fire (needs a fire pool or a Torch) and then through the Food (Rain of Fire and TNT's fire pools can also work here), hitting Food with your melee attack with Salamander TailSalamander Tail, or using Fury PotionFury Potion next to Food.
  • Can also cook Food with Pocket GrillPocket Grill.
  • Beware to not destroy the Food.
  • The Crumbles will not let you cook food at all as it will just be destoryed.
  • Food standing on water takes less damage, allowing you to have a safter way to cook.

Never Tell Me the Odds[ | ]

Purified[ | ]

Careful Planing[ | ]

If you have trouble unlocking Mighty Metamorphim, and you are starting to look for the offering Rooms, you can use Djinn and Potion of True Sight to make it easier for you to find crawl spaces. They can also be in normal rooms, and will require one Key to enter them.

Why Can't I Hold All These Potions?[ | ]

  • Hold 3 of the same Potion at a time.
  • You will need at least 3 Potions' slots.
Helpful items[ | ]

Familiar with Familiars[ | ]

  • Get a Familiar on maximum level (for now, level 3).
  • As for now, NikkoNikko, ThunderbirdThunderbird and FirebirdFirebird are the best options due to them being leveled up really fast (sometimes can get to level 3 before Delvemore Dungeon). The CanaryCanary and the SpiritSpirit can level up quite fast too.
  • Cosmic EggCosmic Egg will allow you to level up your Familiar 3 times as much. The BiscuitsBiscuits allows you to level up 3 times as well, but it is very temporary. These two stacks, which can make it so you level up 9 times faster.
  • Miner's FlaskMiner's Flask can make BiscuitsBiscuits last longer, and so do the berry upgrades at Baba's in the Hub.
